Pillar 02 — AI Ethics Advisory
Prove your AI is fair.
Ethics-by-design frameworks, bias assessment, and proportionality analysis grounded in rights-based methodology — not self-certification checklists.
What this engagement delivers
- —Rights-holder identification and vulnerability mapping
- —Bias assessment framework tailored to your system's decision context
- —Proportionality analysis: is the AI intervention justified given the rights impact?
- —Ethics-by-design recommendations for system architecture and training data
- —Documented fairness criteria suitable for regulatory submission
- —Review of explainability and contestability mechanisms
The proportionality standard
EU AI Act obligations require more than technical fairness metrics. Proportionality asks whether the potential harm to fundamental rights is justified by the system’s purpose and the availability of less intrusive alternatives. This is a legal and ethical judgment, not a statistical one. Valorial applies the same proportionality framework used in IFC Environmental and Social Standards to AI governance contexts.
Who this is for
AI deployers who need to demonstrate fairness to regulators, affected communities, or board-level governance. Particularly relevant for systems making consequential decisions about individuals: credit, employment, benefits, housing, healthcare prioritisation, or educational assessment.
Deliverables
- —Ethics assessment report (20–40 pages)
- —Rights-holder and impact register
- —Proportionality analysis memo
- —Recommendations matrix with implementation priorities
- —Review session with your technical and legal teams
